Assessment of Clinical and Echocardiographic Findings of Pregnant Women with Dyspnea

Objective: To measure the frequency of dyspnea in pregnant patients and to evaluate clinical echocardiographic findings women had dyspnea.
 Study Design: Analytical descriptive cross-sectional.
 Place duration study: Gynae Obstetric Department Tertiary Care Facility from Feb 2022 Apr 2022.
 Methodology: It was an analytical cross sectional study conducted during three months. Consecutive females through non-probability consecutive sampling were included study. Patients who diagnosed history cardiac disease, respiratory illness, anemic covid-19 infection 3 months excluded. The calculated sample size 323. assessed for (shortness breath) pregnancy. Those referred facility 2D-ECHO (Echocardiography) determine cause dyspnea. Frequency & percentage mean ± SD qualitative quantitative data respectively. Chi square test applied find association between categorical variables. Student t-test continuous data.
 Results:A total 323 age more than 18 years Out 87(26.9%) their pregnancy, 2(2.1%) 1st trimester, 26(23.2%) 2nd trimester 59(50.8%) 3rd trimester. ECHO showed that left ventricle end-diastolic diameter (LVEDd) 46±8mm, LVEF 58.8±7%, sPAP 25.40±3.5mmHg LVESd 29.33±8.8mm. As compared normal range sPAP, lower range, while LVEDd value higher (27.2 mm). population hypertension (HTN) (n=13)15.4% (p=1.000) (n=7)7.7% Diabetes (DM) (p=1.000). Cardiac disease found be i.e.(n=67) 76.9% (p=<0.0001)
 Conclusion: ventricular (LVEDd), end-systolic (LVESd), systolic pulmonary artery pressure (sPAP) with all outside range. So causes can clinically identified, we advise ladies visit a cardiologist have echocardiography test.
